ARLX070 ETO agrees to merger
A merger between Ehrhorn Technological Operations (ETO), Inc, and
Applied Science and Technology, Inc, will not affect ETO's position
in the Amateur Radio market, according to ETO Chairman Dick Ehrhorn,
W4ETO.
Applied Science and Technology (ASTeX), of Woburn, Massachusetts,
makes systems for making industrial diamonds and semiconductor
materials. ETO makes high power RF products, including ALPHA linear
amplifiers for amateurs.
Ehrhorn said ''ETO's people, technologies and products strongly
complement those of ASTeX. Our combined capabilities extend from dc
to microwave and up to 75 kW.
''Delivery commitments and warranty service for ETO-ALPHA Amateur
Radio products are not affected,'' Ehrhorn said. ''ETO continues to
operate from its Colorado Springs location with no anticipated
changes in personnel. Ray Heaton remains the primary sales and
service contact for Amateur Radio customers.
''In fact,'' Ehrhorn said, ''We're looking for ways to serve our
Amateur Radio customers even better.''
In 1995, ASTeX had fiscal sales of about 20 million dollars,
according to an ETO press release. ETO reported its sales for the
nine months ended September 30, 1995, at more than 10 million
dollars.
